About

My Perspective

I believe that who I am is a collection of my experiences, all of them. The lessons, the love, the learning, the hardships, the healing, the struggles with my self-esteem, my ability to overcome and shift directions. I am always evolving and striving to be my best me. It definitely hasn’t been easy, and I have worked hard throughout the years (still am) to heal those parts of me that were wounded. We are all capable of growth and healing, although we are on different journeys, I believe we are all here to help each other through.

Who Am I?

My name is Lisa Nikolich, and I am the Insta Blogger behind The Resilient Advocate. I created this page to share my own personal journey, the experiences, the lessons, and the influences that make me, me. I am a wife, a mom, a daughter, a sister, a friend, an advocate, a survivor, a writer, an empath, a positive Influencer, an encourager, a volunteer crisis counselor, and a want-to-make-a-difference human being. I also have my Master’s degree in Family Studies: Human and Family Development and my Undergraduate degree in Social Work.

Content

The Resilient Advocate blog is the “Heinz 57” of my random thoughts, experiences, and influences. It contains both serious and light subjects but always with a positive vibe. My main goal is to promote resiliency and encouragement in the following areas: Wellness, Parenting, Empty Nesting, being a Survivor, Coping, Healthy Living, Mental Health Advocacy in Prevention/Education/Understanding, Self-worth, Caregiving (for a sick parent), Promoting Positivity and overall Wellness. As you can see, I don’t have a niche, but I have a collection of life experiences that I will reflect on.
